DESCRIPTION:
This is a replica of the USSOCOM M249 Light Machine gun used by the USA as a squad support weapon alongside
the M4A1/M16, It is easy to distinguish from other versions of this support weapon by the unique retractable stock,
with a 5 point adjustment setting making it perfect for any situation, be it CQC/CQB Battles or for use as a field rifle.
A&K have done an excellent job in replicating the authenticity of the real steel M249 - It is 1:1 scale and has an
extremely good weight to it when held. The main components are all Metal, including the body gearbox and all
body pins and bolts. The stock and pistol grip are both a fantastic plastic, that feels comfortable to hold and is
strong enough to stand up to the light wear and tear that is experienced when using a rifle on the field.
This weapon IS LIPO READY, which means the battery can be swapped out for a high-end LIPO battery that some
players favour. The weapon operates very smoothly and will consistently feed the Box Magazine without any input
from you as the user - the magazine automatically detects when the gun is low on ammunition, and automatically
winds itself up to allow you to keep your sights on the target without moving to wind your magazine.
The next real benefit of the A&K SAW is that it will accept M4 Magazines in its offset receiver - this allows for
added battlefield compatibility as generally most airsoft skirmishes will have someone on your team with
M4/M16 Magazines spare! Due to the nature of the feed system this means that not only will the gun accept
M4 magazines, but it will accept all feed types - Mid Caps, High Caps and Low caps allowing for this weapon
to be used in both skirmished and Mil-Sims.
To use the Box magazine it must first be fitted with 2 AA Batteries, once this has been done simply pour in your
bbs into the feed chamber, The magazine needs to then be activated by switching it on - this can either be left
constantly feeding or can be used on a "sound activated" system.
Once the magazine is loaded it can be inserted into the gun and it will continue to wind allowing you
to keep a steady stream of fire without worrying about reloading.
All in all this is a fantastic replica of the SAW, The universal M4/M16 magazine system really makes this gun
great for use in a squad or airsoft team as it allows for some real teamwork in the sense of sharing ammunition.
This is by far one of the best guns that A&K make and as such, is renowned for being both reliable and high performance.
All round a brilliant weapon system.
